The Structure of the English Language // Writing

The Structure of the English Language

The English language is very diverse and massive in its entirety. What more of its structure? Its contents? Its dips, folds, cracks, and corners make up the main language that our world uses today. It is both the cold, hard flesh of the dead and the pulsating organs of the living. Pertains so, to the changes and revisions that we encounter in this language as the time —  as slow, as it is swift — passes by.

The English Language is the knowledge of its structure and content, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. It is an endless cycle, in my opinion. It's like a lump of clay that one can shape into any form — of course, while retaining its beauty— using the hands as molders. We can distinguish these hands as the classes of words or parts of speech, meanings of words or semantics, how words are organised in relation to each other or syntax, how words are formed or morphology, the sounds of words or phonology and lexicography, how written forms represent these sounds.

Language has been described using both traditional terms and some of the categories and descriptions of modern grammar. English is not “derived” from Latin but has a Germanic origin, although much of our lexicon comes from French and the classical languages of Greek and Latin. Some of the language categories of traditional grammar have more coherence than others. I believe that there are such languages that which are still known and used in special contexts in written form, but not as ordinary spoken languages for everyday communication called Dead Languages. Some examples of these are Latin, Sanskrit, and Old Church Slavonic. But some scholars and archivists study them for the specific reason of learning. The point that I am making, is that languages can be confusing but they can be also fascinating and much more endearing if we intend know about it better.

It starts with the most basic units of meaning: the simple words or the elements of complex words. If we stop and think about it, the structure of the English language is changing. There is a saying that change is good. We continue to develop and thrive in our comprehensiveness, and that is a step to wisdom or a deeper understanding of things. The structure may be a conundrum, and a longer stretch of the language may be interesting, but the study of the structure of the English language is altogether, a uniquely different and enlightening experience indeed.

Stylish Uniform // Fashion

Hoohah!!!
This little juicy piece of glamour and cuteness is -  wait for it!!     going to be our OJT uniform!! Yeyyy! I am actually loving our Dept. Head for this. She was choosing out of three outfits, and hands down, she LOVED this one and was ecstatic about it. The only downside is      in the name of formality     when in the actual immersion, we have to switch the skirt for slacks. (Boo!) But I can live with it. :))

One great thing to look forward to in the midst of all the college mess!!

:DD

The Infernal Devices // Books

Okay :)

So I know that these are also Cassandra Clare's works.
The Infernal Devices.

But I LOVED these books so much that I felt the need to stress on them in particular, for emphasis.
Ugh!! The Tessa Gray, Will Herondale and James Carstairs love triangle is E-P-I-C.
In Clockwork Prince, it really came to the point where I was bawling so hard, I developed hiccups for a moment.
I could imagine Will's and Tessa's heartbreak, as if I were there with them, feeling and aching for the same love, the same loss.
Gosh, If I were the one in Tessa's position, I wouldn't know what to do either. The two Shadowhunters are equally deserving and they both have dark, traumatic pasts which makes them both vulnerable and strong at the same time. I couldn't bear to hurt either of them. ;(( sniff, sniff.
I kind of pity Tessa now. And It makes me wonder how things will turn out, since Tessa is immortal, (like Magnus, whom I adore) Will is broken and Jem is dying. One more thing, they have Cecily now, Will's sister, whom I know will be awesomely hilarious.
I was wondering....why are there quotes of Clockwork Princess in www.goodreads.com?? Are they kind of a special sneak peek or something??
Please answer me because I am con-fuuused.

I'm blabbering aren't I? Hoho Final words please!!

(I think there's something fishy about one of the Silent Brothers in TMI, Brother Jeremiah. Could he be Jem?? And Church the cat is creeping me out. He is first seen in The Mortal Instruments, but it turns out that he was also in The Infernal Devices. It has been eons, and cats don't live more than 15 years     well, the normal ones anyways. Did the Dark sisters do something to this cat?? Answers!!)

I SO cannot wait till March 2013 for Clockwork Princess!

The Mortal Instruments // Books

Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series.
These. Books. Are. Awesome.
Its been the current addiction of my awesome self. There are actually two more books besides these three, but I don't have pictures. (lol) I finished all of the books sometime ago, so I'm just waiting for the next book, Heavenly Fire.
And The Dark Artifices.
Gosh, Jace is the baddie-sarcastic guy of my dreams! He and Clary are so cute.

Hohohoh

...As We Can Get

Every now and then, I tend to visualize my future
Daydreaming again and again, I think I now found someone to complete my picture
Realizing you were the one, made me think about forever
I know I don't regret anything I've done,
please believe me, I'm glad that we're together

Apologies, my love, I really am sorry, for every time I've made you cry and worry
Never-ending patience and always being truthful,
only some of the qualities you have for which I am most thankful

Nico, Mahal, just always trust me, I promise that you are my one and only
I swear to never leave you, you'll know that it's true
Continue with who you are and what you do, these are the reasons why I fell in love with you
Of this, I'm sure, so there are no need for bribes, 'cause with you, my love, I'm the luckiest girl alive.

Love of Autumn

Death of Elizabeth

My love..
It's not yet your time. This shouldn't have happened. No! You don't deserve this.
Don't I deserve you?
That's not what I meant. You had a whole life ahead of you.
You are my life. I wan't to stay here.
You're still stubborn, as you have always been... I've missed you, you know.
I missed you too. Sorry if I've kept you waiting.
It took you long enough, but you're worth every minute.
One more thing, Why did you follow me?
To be with you.

"Eyes look their last.

Arms ache in their last embrace.

Hearts break for love that is lost.."

Movies Schmovies

I also watched American Reunion. Super Funny.

I loved Steven Stifler, as always. Haha :D

Mila Kunis, a personal favorite of mine. Her eyes. Nuff said.

"I felt it. Perfect. It was perfect."

The last line in the dark, disturbing, yet seductive 2011 blockbuster, Black Swan from director Darren Aronsofsky. The doe-eyed actress, Natalie Portman is the exquisite, dedicated ballerina, Nina Sayers who fulfills her dream in playing the Swan Queen, but slowly loses her mind when her obsession on perfection complicates her role in acting the White Swan's evil twin, the passionate and lustful, Black Swan.

I made the mistake of watching this movie late at night by myself    BAD IDEA. Many of you may not feel so, but as I am a very squeamish person, I did not appreciate the tearing flesh and blood and women stabbing their own faces with nail filers.
But I have to admit, despite    or maybe because of    its unnerving theme, Black Swan is amazingly compelling. I couldn't stop watching even though I've been startled and scared out of my wits so many times. And the dancing!! Amazing.
Mila (I. Love. Her.) and Natalie supposedly trained in ballet several months before the filming, and I commend them both (even if its not in my place to do so :P), their efforts certainly paid off big time. Brilliant actresses. And their bed scene certainly does not go unnoticed in my book. ;)
If you haven't already, Go watch it! Now.

My girlfriends and I plan to have a movie marathon tomorrow after class, so hope I'll watch something worth posting :))

Ciao! <3

Love of Clothing

I hung out with my boyfriend today. :) So happy the sun finally peeked out of its hiding place.

So, for the post proper (LOL)
Ughh I am so obsessed about having a really cute dress. These little white and black yummies are from virtualdivisoria.com (be sure to visit if you're in Philippines, tons of great finds!)
The first photo is my cousin, Sayaka Inagaki (the second girl) and her friend, Saki, who lives in Japan. They both have really pretty outfits but I kinda dig Sayaka's look more, a lot more. Especially her tights- oh, her tights... >_<
So anyway, me and my brother are currently watching American Pie: The Reunion and I'd better pay attention or he'd kill me. Hahaha :D See ya! Smiles for everyone :D

New Girl

Hey :) I am Maria Francia Tirao. I am a super new blogger, quite an amateur and I don't really have the guts or the gadgets to maintain an acceptable blog, and honestly, I don't know why I'm doing this..Okay, I do. I am doing this for myself, not for attention or fame or for compliments, but for me, like an outlet. This blog will contain my thoughts, opinions on various things and my most awesome self.
Yes, I am very much happily smitten.
I LOVE clothes. And fashion. Though I do have a loooong way to go.

Oh, look, flowers! Being a hopeless romantic, I'm a sucker for flowers. Pale pinks and whites. My Gramma grows beautiful geraniums and lilies and all sorts of orchids in her garden, but they're not in full bloom yet so I got this picture from Bonnie Barton of Flashes of Style (whom I idolize). :P

This is my first official writing stint: Tadaa!! Death of Elizabeth. I co-wrote it with my best friend back in our 2nd year for a course requirement. The whole prod was made up of us sophomores, (My guy, Nico, being the leading man :P). We staged this at the UP Aldaba Hall. Quite an unforgettable experience. ;)
And of course. Potterhead alert! Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived, The Chosen One with The King and the Greatest Witch of their age. My childhood, Hogwarts and J.K Rowling. :D
But I have lots (and lots and lots...) of other favorite books as well, but I can hardly post all of them. I am a very wide reader. Can somebody suggest some good books? I'm more of a fantasy/Romance kinda girl.

This is getting very looong... Hmm I think I'd just continue this another time. As for now, that's that. Hope and prayers for everyone, have a lovely smile today :)
